ChemInform Abstract

tBu-substituted disilanes of type (II) react with C60 on irradiation to give 1,16-adducts of type (III). In the case of the Tms-substituted analogue (IV) the 1,2-adduct (VI) is obtained as well. This type of adduct is exclusively formed in the case of phenylsilanes (V) via silyl migration.
