ChemInform Abstract

Preliminary studies concerning the reaction of bicyclic alkenes with terminal aryl alkenes on a solid support are carried out in solution phase. The anhydride (I) and vinylanisole afford only product (III). The unsymmetrical alkenes (IV) produce mixtures of regioisomers. All products have E-configuration in the side chain. Non-terminal alkenes such as stilbene and 1-phenyl-1-propene are found to be unreactive.
