ChemInform Abstract

Irradiation of the colorless spirocompounds (I) yields the colored photomerocyanines for which various thermodynamic and kinetic parameters are determined. They can exist as several stereoisomers with regard to the C-N bond. NMR spectroscopic investigations reveal that the main geometric form is TTC.
