ChemInform Abstract

The tetrachlorophthaloyl group is found to be stable to a wide range of reagents normally used in standard oligosaccharide transformations and is comparable to the phthaloyl group with respect to ease of installation and stereodirecting properties. However, the removal of the tetrachlorophthaloyl protecting group is achieved under more mild conditions.
