ChemInform Abstract

It is shown that in the presence of RhCl(PPh3)3 the hydrosilanes (I) and (V) undergo dehydrocoupling with aromatic thiols. This method can be successfully applied for polymerization of hydrosilanes with aromatic dithiols yielding novel polymers containing Si-S bonds in the main chain (Mw values: 1.5 × 103-7.0 × 103).
