ChemInform Abstract

The stereochemical features of the Ce(IV) oxidation reactions of silylated amine derivatives derived from L-alanine are investigated. Though, the Mannich cyclization of (I) results in low enantioselectivity, whereas (IV) and (VII) provide a stereocontrolled formation of the hydropyridines (V) and (VIII).
