ChemInform Abstract
Reaction of dimethylfurandicarboxylic acid (I) with SF4 gives, besides the expected acid fluoride (II) and small amounts of 3,4-bis( trifluoromethyl)furan (III), the higher fluorinated compounds (IV) and (V) formed by the substitution of hydrogen atoms by fluorine in one of the methyl groups.
