ChemInform Abstract

The behavior of nitriles (I) and (VII)-(IX) towards CH2N2 is studied. In the case of (Ia)-(Ie) a reaction is observed which leads, via triazoles (III), to formation of the N-methyl isomers (IV)-(VI). Structural features which influence the results are investigated and discussed in detail.
