ChemInform Abstract

Described is the synthesis of bifunctional or trifunctional cross- linking agents (V), (XII), or (IX), resp., containing a thiol specific bromoacetyl group, a photochemically activable Dap-residue, which upon photolysis undergoes Wolff rearrangement under formation of a reactive ketene suited for the interaction with nucleophilic groups in proteins, as well as additionally a phenolic function. Their reactions with thiols, e.g. (X) or (XIII), and their photochemical behavior are investigated.
