ChemInform Abstract

In order to investigate the influence of structural modifications on the choleretic activity of 3-(benzotriazol-1-yl)butanoic acid (IX), the analogues (V) are prepared. Choleretic activity is maintained after the introduction of unsaturation in the chain, e.g. compound (Vb) , but is completely suppressed when unsaturation is associated with a shortening of the alkenoic chain such as in compound (Va).
