ChemInform Abstract

The natural antibiotic pseudomonic acid A (XV) shows competitive inhibition activity against isoleucyl tRNA synthetase, whereby the C- 12 to C-14 moiety is essentially for the enzyme binding. The analogues (VI), (IX), (X), (XII), and (XIV) modified in this region are investigated with respect to antibacterial activity and enzyme binding properties.
