ChemInform Abstract

The key step in the synthesis of pipercide (VIIIa) and the related compounds (VIIIb) and (X) is formation of the esters (IV) by aldol- Grob-type fragmentation sequence. The final step, preparation of amides can be achieved by conventional methodology or by Roskamp′s method.
