ChemInform Abstract

In order to test, whether metallo-phosphaalkenes (III) like metallo- diphosphenes react with electron-deficient alkenes in a (2 + 2) cycloaddition to give metallophosphetanes, the electron-rich compounds (III) are prepared and reacted with fumaric acid derivatives (IV). The results show that the title 1-metallo-1,2-dihydrophosphetes (V) are formed instead of the expected metallophosphetanes. The preparation of (V) from electron-deficient alkenes and phosphaalkenes followed by amine elimination has not been described so far.
