ChemInform Abstract

The synthesis of the key intermediate (IV) in the preparation of the title compound (VIII) starts with the acid (I), which is obtained from commercially available 3-amino-4-methoxybenzoic acid. The cytotoxic activity of (VIII) against 4 human lung cancer cell lines reveals that it is as active as adriamycin and more cytotoxic than amsacrine.
