ChemInform Abstract

After reduction and ate complex formation, the nitriles (I) are treated with Anderson′s reagent (II) to give enantioselectively the sulfinimines (S)-(III). Under modified conditions, these products are also available from the aldehydes (IV), in most cases with superior yields. Aliphatic nitriles and aldehydes fail to give the corresponding sulfinimines.
