ChemInform Abstract

A series of important homochiral building blocks such as (III) and (IV) is prepared starting from the D-mannitol derivative (I) as the unique chiral precursor. The stereochemistry of the products is assured by controlling the facial and endo/exo diastereoselectivity in Diels- Alder reactions.
