ChemInform Abstract

Reaction of carbanions, generated from aminonitriles (I), with unsymmetrically substituted acetylenes gives the expected 1:1 adducts ( cf. (III), (VI); 8 examples in all) and, in some cases, products of their further transformation (cf. (VII)). Cleavage of the carbonylprotecting groups in compounds (IIIa) and (VII) yields the corresponding ketones in good yields.
