ChemInform Abstract

UV irradiation of (I) in MeOH gives a compound (V) formed by 1,4- addition of solvent besides the products of decarboxylation and isomerization. In dioxane various photochemical processes occur. The latter reaction is also performed with the 2-p-methoxyphenyl analogue of (I) and gives similar results.
