ChemInform Abstract

Fluorination of the phosphinous chloride (I) with antimony trifluoride gives the trifluorophosphorane (II) which undergoes dehydrofluorination upon treatment with butyllithium, producing the ylide (III). Reaction of (III) with trifluoroacetic acid leads to the formation of the phosphinic fluoride (IV).
