ChemInform Abstract

The title reactions are found to yield the diamagnetic complexes (III) and (V) which crystallize in space group Cc (Z = 4) and P1 (Z = 3), respectively. Both (III) and (V) are mixed-crystal compounds and contain several anions which differ slightly in composition and structure. The various anions show a high tendency for the formation of (MVI(μ-S)2MoIVO(μ-S)2MIV) cores (M: Mo, W). The complex (V) is the first structurally characterized Mo/W mixed thiometalate.
