Abstract

Onychine (Ia) has been isolated from Cleistopholis patens as anticandidal compound.

ChemInform Abstract

Onychine (Ia) has been isolated from Cleistopholis patens as anticandidal compound. The analogues (Ib) and (Ic) which are synthesized via thermal rearrangement of indanone oxime O-crotyl or O-allyl ethers show extremely weak activities toward microorganisms. The related compounds (II), synthesized via Diels-Alder reactions, are more active and the best results are achieved with compound (III).
