Abstract

The titanacyclobutanes (I) react with tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)cyclopentadienone (II) in dichloromethane to produce the titanium complex (III).

The titanacyclobutanes (I) react with tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)cyclopentadienone (II) in dichloromethane to produce the titanium complex (III). A mechanism involving a radical ion pair intermediate is proposed. (Crystal data of (III): monoclinic, space group P21/n, Z=4).
