ChemInform Abstract: The iso-Tetraphosphane P(P(SiMe3)(C6H5))3.
Abstract
The preparation of the title compound (III) from PCl3 (I) and the Li phosphide (II) requires two steps: at -78 °C PCl3 (I) reacts with two equiv. (II) without side reactions; at -35 °C the formed intermediate (Ph(Tms)P)2PCl reacts with the third phosphide (II) to yield (III) quite cleanly.

The preparation of the title compound (III) from PCl3 (I) and the Li phosphide (II) requires two steps: at -78 °C PCl3 (I) reacts with two equiv. The results of a NMR investigation of (III) are reported.
