ChemInform Abstract

The title compound (III) is prepared via the intermediate (II), which can only be observed in solution by 1H-NMR. The salt (IV) - in contrast to (III) - undergoes photodehydrogenation to yield (VI). This type of reaction has hitherto not been observed for flavin compounds.
