ChemInform Abstract
The dihydronaphthalenesulfonamides (I) and (V) react with methyl α-bromopropionate (II) in the presence of sodium hydride or butyllithium to produce a mixture of the antiinflammatory active drug (±)-naproxen (III) and the regioisomeric acid (IV).
