Abstract
The arylazocoumarin derivatives (VII), (IX), and (X) are synthesized in a convenient manner as outlined in the reaction scheme.

The arylazocoumarin derivatives (VII), (IX), and (X) are synthesized in a convenient manner as outlined in the reaction scheme. These compounds give yellow and brown dyeings on polyester fibres with moderate fastness properties. Additional reactions are described in the original paper.
