ChemInform Abstract

The title complexes (III) are synthesized by the two methods shown in the scheme. The iodo-Pd derivative is also obtained by the deprotonation reaction, the iodo-Pt derivative can also be prepared starting from PtI₂. The yields of the Pt complexes (IIIb) are lower than those of the Pd analogues (IIIa). Based on IR and NMR spectra, for all the complexes the same structure is proposed which is determined X-ray analytically for the bromo-Pt title complex (IIIb) (X: Br; space group P2₁/a, Z=4).
