ChemInform Abstract

The title ligand (I) reacts with Ce(III) nitrate (II) to give the title complex (III) (space group P1, Z=2) in which the ligands are bound as both bidentate and monodentate neutral ligands. The reaction with the Ce(IV) salt (IV) yields a thermally unstable Ce(IV) complex of the formulation (V) which contains two ligands bound as both neutral and anionic chelates. The Ce(IV) in (V) is probably ten-coordinated.
