ChemInform Abstract

The benzotriazepines (III) and (VIII) are prepared from the anilines (II) and (VII) by reaction with the aldehydes (I). The derivatives (XI) are synthesized via acylation of (VII) and subsequent cyclocondensation. The compounds (III) have antidepressant activity and sedative effects. The derivatives (VIII) and (XI) show lower antidepressant activity, but give remarkable sedative effects.
