Abstract
Seven 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds such as (I) are coupled with the glycinate (II) to form the alkenylglycinates (III) mentioned in the title.

Seven 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds such as (I) are coupled with the glycinate (II) to form the alkenylglycinates (III) mentioned in the title. These are cyclized with sodium ethoxide to produce the corresponding pyrroles (IV).
