Abstract

One-pot coupling reaction of the bis(2-isocyano-2-tosylethyl)benzene (I) with furan-2,5-dicarbaldehyde (II) gives the bisoxazolofuranometacyclophane (III) and the higher homologue (IV).

One-pot coupling reaction of the bis(2-isocyano-2-tosylethyl)benzene (I) with furan-2,5-dicarbaldehyde (II) gives the bisoxazolofuranometacyclophane (III) and the higher homologue (IV). On the basis of NMR spectra, the conformation of (III) is assigned to be syn.
