Abstract

Perchlorobutenyne (I) reacts with the imines (II) to give the substitution products (III).

ChemInform Abstract

Perchlorobutenyne (I) reacts with the imines (II) to give the substitution products (III). (IIIa) is converted to the silylbutadiynylguanidine (V). The activated alkenes (VI) react with the (IIIa), yielding the cycloaddition products (VII). The cyclobutenes (VIIa) and (VIIb) are spontaneously cleaved, forming the compounds (VIIIa) and (VIIIb) respectively, whereas (VIIc) proves to be stable. Further reactions in this series are described in the original paper.
