Abstract

Debromination of the vic-dibromides (I) with equimolar amounts of iron(II) oxalate produces the olefins (II).

ChemInform Abstract

Debromination of the vic-dibromides (I) with equimolar amounts of iron(II) oxalate produces the olefins (II). Whereas phenyl substituted dibromides are converted into the corresponding olefins in an almost quantitative yield, trans-1,2-dibromocyclohexane (Id) shows only moderate conversion into cyclohexene (IId).
