ChemInform Abstract

((I) and (IV) to give (II)/(III) and the respective analogs via H-abstraction to a bromovinyl carbanion followed by both a rehybridization process, where the bromide remains attached to C-1 throughout the reaction generating (II), and a Beckmann-like rearrangement leading to (III); yields and label ratios in the products are a function of reaction temp. and substrate structure).
