ChemInform Abstract

The lithium enolates derived from various N-acyl oxazolidinones such as (I) react with the azodicarboxylate (II) to give the adducts (III), allowing the preparation of the α-hydrazido esters (V) and α-amino esters (VIII) with high optical purities.
