Abstract

The acetyltetramic acid (I) reacts with the benzaldehydes (II) under acidic conditions to give the benzylidene compounds (III).

ChemInform Abstract

The acetyltetramic acid (I) reacts with the benzaldehydes (II) under acidic conditions to give the benzylidene compounds (III). The chalcone derivatives (V) are obtained from (I) and (II) in ethanolic solution in the presence of a small quantity of morpholine.
