ChemInform Abstract

The title compound crystallizes in the hexagonal space group P63/m with Z=1. The structure is described as a defective Cr12P7-type structure in which Rh-sites, tetrahedrally coordinated by As, are partially occupied. The miscibility gap existing between Rh10.5As7 and Rh12As7 is explained in terms of the location of the As atoms on the c-axis. A brief survey of the binary Rh-As system is given.
