Abstract

The η2-acyl title complexes (III) are prepared according to the scheme.

ChemInform Abstract

The η2-acyl title complexes (III) are prepared according to the scheme. They decompose in solution with dissociation of PMe3. This reaction occurs faster in the presence of small amounts of water with formation of the hydroxo species (V). Carbonylation of (IIIa) affords successively (VIIa) and (VIIb). Finally, the reaction of (I) with CH2Cl2 (VIII) yields the seven-coordinate anionic compound (IX). The structure of the pentagonal-bipyramidal bromo-η2-acyl complex (IIIb) (space group P212121, Z=4) is determined by X-ray analysis.
