Abstract

The title complexes (I) and (II) are prepared by treating NbCl4·2THF in THF with the disodium salt of N,N'-ethylenebis(acetylacetonylideneamine) or the dilithium salt of the macrocyclic ligand.

ChemInform Abstract

The title complexes (I) and (II) are prepared by treating NbCl4·2THF in THF with the disodium salt of N,N'-ethylenebis(acetylacetonylideneamine) or the dilithium salt of the macrocyclic ligand. Both compounds are paramagnetic and contain a single unpaired electron. The structures of (I) (space group P21/c, Z = 8) and (II) (P1, Z=2) are determined by X-ray analysis.
