Abstract

Reaction of the hydroxyhexahydropyrimidinethiones (I) with the mercaptans (II) gives the alkylmercapto derivatives (III) with retention of the configuration.

Reaction of the hydroxyhexahydropyrimidinethiones (I) with the mercaptans (II) gives the alkylmercapto derivatives (III) with retention of the configuration. Methanolysis of (III) yields the methoxy compounds (V). (Mechanism).
