Abstract

Various natural alcohols (I) are treated with the title reagent (II) in the presence of a tertiary amine to give the tetrafluoropropionic acid esters (III).

Various natural alcohols (I) are treated with the title reagent (II) in the presence of a tertiary amine to give the tetrafluoropropionic acid esters (III). Fluorination does not occur under these conditions. A mechanism is suggested.
