Abstract

The Zn-catalyzed reaction of the alkenes (I) with the benzodioxole (II) yields the disubstituted benzodioxoles (III), whereas in the presence of BCl3 the monoadducts (V) are formed; these are converted to the unsaturated esters (VII).

ChemInform Abstract

The Zn-catalyzed reaction of the alkenes (I) with the benzodioxole (II) yields the disubstituted benzodioxoles (III), whereas in the presence of BCl3 the monoadducts (V) are formed; these are converted to the unsaturated esters (VII). Other examples are given.
