Abstract
Under the reaction conditions shown in the scheme, the unsaturated carbonyl compounds (Ia)-(Id) are reduced to the corresponding saturated derivatives (IIa)-(IId).

Under the reaction conditions shown in the scheme, the unsaturated carbonyl compounds (Ia)-(Id) are reduced to the corresponding saturated derivatives (IIa)-(IId). In the case of (Ie), compound (IIe) is formed together with its acid.
