ChemInform Abstract

The complexes (III) and (IV) are isolated as a mixture (no yields given). (IIIb) and (IVb) are separated manually and investigated by X-ray diffraction. (IIIb), consisting of infinite chains of alternating Cd and S atoms, crystallizes in the space group P2₁/n with Z=2. (IVb) crystallizes in the space group Pbn21 with Z=4 and consists of discrete cations and anions linked by hydrogen bond interactions, which give rise to a staircase-like framework. Both families of compounds are isostructural.
