Abstract
The 2,3-anhydro-α-D-allopyranoside (I) is converted to the aminodeoxy- α-D-glucopyranoside derivative (III) by regioselective trans-diaxial cleavage of the epoxide ring with N,N-(diethyl)trimethylsilylamine (II) in the presence of AlCl3.
