Abstract
The N-(trimethylsilyl)sulfoxime (I) is lithiated with BuLi and then allowed to react with the aldehydes or ketones (II), forming the alcohols (III).

The N-(trimethylsilyl)sulfoxime (I) is lithiated with BuLi and then allowed to react with the aldehydes or ketones (II), forming the alcohols (III). The derivatives (IIIa) and (IIIb) are treated with phosgene (IV), producing the oxathiazinone oxides (V).
