The reagent (II) mentioned in the title is prepared from the dichloro acetal (I) under solid-liquid phase-transfer conditions.

The reagent (II) mentioned in the title is prepared from the dichloro acetal (I) under solid-liquid phase-transfer conditions. (II) reacts with compounds with activated protons, for example, the acid (III), the amine (V), the alcohols or thiols (VII), or the CH-acidic derivatives (IX) to yield the acetonylation products (IV), (VI), (VIII), or (X).
