Abstract
The title compound crystallizes in space group P31c, Z=2 (single crystal XRD data).

The title compound crystallizes in space group P31c, Z=2 (single crystal XRD data). 2/3 of the octahedral sites of the hexagonal closest packed arrangement of Cl- are occupied by Na+ and Cr3+. The compound is isotypic with the corresponding V3+ and Mo3+ compounds and is different from K3CrCl6 and Rb3CrCl6 which crystallize in the K3MoCl6-type structure.
