ChemInform Abstract

The title complexes (I) and (V) are quite easily synthesized from (III) and the appropriate silver salts. They are sensitive to moisture and decompose upon heating with elimination of CO and SO2 to give quantitatively the Re(VII) oxide compound (VI). The complete exchange of all O atoms in (V) could be detected by 17O NMR studies. A mechanism for this previously unknown exchange phenomenon is proposed.
