ChemInform Abstract

The title complex is obtained in quantitative yield by reaction of PPh4I with SbI3 in MeCN at 81 °C. It crystallizes in the space group C2/c with Z = 8. The unusual feature of the structure is the existence of a cation as the donor and an anion as the acceptor since η2-bonded phenyl rings of the cations complete the coordination polyhedron around Sb(III).
